What Can I Study
Similar to US qualifications, study begins with a broad undergraduate degree, where you can develop a depth of expertise in one area and develop your skills in a range of other learning environments, followed by specialised graduate professional or research programmes.
The University’s combination of interdisciplinary breadth and academic specialisation means that our graduates have an increased capacity to successfully find their way in a world where knowledge is rapidly changing, discipline boundaries are constantly shifting and employees are required to communicate in a variety of cultural settings. By taking this path, of broad undergraduate degree followed by specialist postgraduate study, you’ll also achieve a higher level of qualification than a traditional Australian double degree, something that helps our graduates stand out to future employers.
Because our curriculum allows you to combine over 100 areas of study, you’re free to shape the degree that’ll ultimately shape your world. You can blend psychology with artificial intelligence, wine-making with international communications, music with biomedicine. With such generous choice and scope, you’ll become the person who makes a difference: Knowledgeable and well-rounded, in high demand globally, someone who can think critically and creatively, speak persuasively, adapt to new challenges and collaborate with peers. To explore our full range of study options please go to study.unimelb.edu.au.
With around 50% of our students undertaking graduate study, more than any other Australian university, you’ll be studying in a supportive and rewarding environment. You can choose from over 400 graduate courses in 18 graduate schools, ranging from graduate certificates and diplomas, masters by coursework through to masters by research and PhD programmes. You might have finished your undergraduate degree and have fallen in love with an area you never even knew existed when you started university. Or, you might have studied your undergraduate degree at another institution and are looking for a genuine grad school experience to give you the edge in an ever-more competitive jobs market.
